MPHA honors two MSPHI team members

Each year, the Mississippi Public Health Association (MPHA) recognizes public health professionals who have made outstanding contributions to creating a healthier Mississippi. In 2015, two MSPHI team members received awards at MPHA’s annual conference: Lydia West, MPH, RD, Consultant and Roy Hart, MPH, CPM, CHES, Interim CEO.

Lydia West was named the 2015 Outstanding MPHA Member of the Year. This award is given to an individual member of MPHA for outstanding contributions, leadership and achievements in service to MPHA. Lydia served as the 2015 Chair of MPHA’s Nutrition Section and served on the founding committee of MPHA’s Young Professionals Group. She also chaired MPHA’s National Public Health Week planning committee. Her passion, leadership and enthusiasm were instrumental in the success of each project she led.

 

Roy Hart was named the 2015 Randy Caperton Administrator of the Year by MPHA’s Health Administrator’s Section. This award is given to an individual exemplifies the ideal qualities for a health administrator. Roy’s dedication, keen insight, and leadership skills contribute to his ability to successfully administrate programs that profoundly impact the health of Mississippians.
